HYOMPORA TRAILS

Our vision for Nichols Park is to cultivate a vibrant and sustainable riparian ecosystem that enriches both the local environment and the community it serves. Initially, the site served as farmland before becoming a retention pond for a nearby water treatment facility. By harnessing natural, native, and existing vegetation, we aim to create a space that not only functions effectively but also fosters ecological harmony and community connection.

Our masterplan integrates insights from our analysis, addressing key concerns through innovative solutions. Utilizing overflow drainage, terraced ponds highlight diverse Arizona regions, culminating in a basin nurturing the original cottonwood. Connected by an equestrian trail, it offers a recreational grass area for Gilbert’s community.
